Faith At Home

After your kids come home from Little Switchers, you can help them keep exploring and putting into practice the awesome things they’ve been learning—right at home! And we want to make that super easy for you.

Here are a few simple ideas to try together, with one new idea each week.

Current Series: "I Can Help Others!"

Rahab Helps the Spies

Joshua 2; 6:17-25

Weekly Focus: God wants me to help others.

Rahab was brave and kind. She helped two strangers even when it felt scary, because God wanted her to help others.

Try this at home:

  • Build a hiding spot together using cushions, blankets or a cardboard box.
  • Take turns being the "helper" who keeps a toy safely hidden.
  • Afterwards ask: "How did it feel to help someone?"

Nehemiah Helps

Nehemiah 1-2; 4-7

Weekly Focus: God wants me to help others.

Nehemiah helped rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem, even when the job felt too big for one
person. When we all help together, big things get done.

Try this together:

  • Get out the blocks, cushions or cardboard boxes and build a "wall" together.
  • Give everyone in the whānau a job to do.
  • As you build, ask: "What's something we could help fix or build together this week?"

Ruth Helps Naomi

Ruth 1:1-19

Weekly Focus: God wants me to help my family.

Ruth chose to stay with her mother-in-law Naomi and help her, even when it would have been easier to leave. She said, "Where you go, I will go", and she meant it.

Try this at home:

  • Think of one small job around the house your child could do to help a family member this week: setting the table, carrying something light, giving a hug.
  • Afterwards ask: "Who in our family could we help this week?" And "How did it make you feel to help?"

Jonathan Helps David

1 Samuel 18:1-4; 20

Weekly Focus: God wants me to help my friends.

Jonathan helped and protected his friend David, even when it wasn't easy. Helping others, even in small ways, is something even the smallest hands can do.

Try this together:

  • Pick one person this week (a friend, neighbour or family member) and help them together.
  • Bake something to share, write a kind note, do a chore for someone else, or give away a toy that's still loved.
  • Afterwards ask: "How did it feel to help them?"
