Our Beliefs
God
We believe there is one God in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God is the creator and sustainer of all things.
(Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 28:19; Acts 17:24-28)
(Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 28:19; Acts 17:24-28)
The Bible
We believe that God, in making Himself known, inspired the Holy Bible. We believe that it is entirely trustworthy and that it has supreme and unchallenged authority in matters of truth, faith and conduct.
(2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
(2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
Separation
We believe people were made for relationship with God but sinned. We are all sinners, guilty in God’s sight, under His judgment and separated from Him.
(Ephesians 2:1-3, 12; Romans 3:23, 6:23)
(Ephesians 2:1-3, 12; Romans 3:23, 6:23)
Jesus
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and perfectly human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He was without sin.
(Philippians 2:6-11; Hebrews 1:1-3; 1 Peter 2:22)
(Philippians 2:6-11; Hebrews 1:1-3; 1 Peter 2:22)
Reconciliation
We believe Jesus Christ took on Himself the sin of the world when He died on the cross as our representative and substitute. God, who raised Him from the dead, showed His love for us and provided in Christ the only way for us to be forgiven and reconciled to Him.
(2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 1:21-22; 1 John 2:1-2)
(2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 1:21-22; 1 John 2:1-2)
Salvation
We believe that salvation is entirely by grace through faith alone in the atoning work of Christ on the cross. This salvation, once given, cannot be lost, abandoned or revoked. We believe the church has been entrusted with the communication of this gospel.
(John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8; John 10:28-29; Romans 11:29; Hebrews 10:14; Matthew 28:19-20)
(John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8; John 10:28-29; Romans 11:29; Hebrews 10:14; Matthew 28:19-20)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit brings people to repentance and to faith in Christ, that He lives in born again believers, interceding for them, and develops their new life in Christ. Through the spiritual gifts and abilities God gives to all His people, the Holy Spirit enables the believer to serve God and to reach out to others.
(John 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Acts 1:8)
(John 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Acts 1:8)
Prayer
We believe that God hears and answers the prayers of His people in accordance with His will.
(John 16:24; 1 John 5:14-15)
(John 16:24; 1 John 5:14-15)
His Return
We believe Jesus Christ, the living Lord, will again intervene in human history to rapture His church, to finally deal with Satan, and to judge the world.
(1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:7-15)
(1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:7-15)
Heaven
We believe that heaven is the eternal home with God for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, and that hell is a real place of eternal torment after death for those who have rejected God.
(Luke 16:19-31; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; John 14:2-3)
